Baysox Announce 2009 Promotional Schedule

March 10, 2009 - The Baysox are announcing their promotional schedule for the 2009 season! The team encourages you to think outside the box and turn your television off in 2009. The promotional schedule includes giveaways, Kids Club events, jersey auctions, fireworks and a world record attempt. The Baysox will host a number of exciting new events this year, including a Kids Club event each month. Fans ages 12 and under can sign up for the Kids Club at The Kids Club registration page; at the 10th annual Free Family FunFest on Saturday, March 28, at Prince George's Stadium; or at any Baysox home game. Every member of Louie's Kids Club will receive one free gift for attending a single Baysox game. Louie's Kids Club 2009 Events: Sunday April 19 Kids Capital Spring Fling 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Sunday May 17 Sundae Sunday 2:05 p.m. Saturday June 6 Milkshake Concert/Superhero Night 7:05 p.m. Sunday July 12 Louie's Birthday 6:05 p.m. Sunday Aug. 23 Party In The Park 6:05 p.m. In addition to the Kids Club exclusive events, the Baysox will introduce exciting new events in 2009. On Tuesday, May 4, the Baysox will host "Party Like it's 1929 Night" featuring cars from the era and walk-up ticket specials. On Thursday, May 14, the team will host its first ever "Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament." Participants will be required to register ahead of time, and the tournament package will include admission to the tournament, a game ticket and a two-hour buffet. On Monday, July 27, the Baysox will succumb to "Moustache Mania." All male staff members will grow a mustache to commemorate the occasion, and fans with moustaches can look forward to a special ticket offer. As the season winds down, you can get excited for "Star Wars Saturday" on Saturday, Aug. 22, and "Fans Pick The Promo Night" on Friday, Sept. 4. A number of familiar promotions will be back this season. "Christmas in July" returns Saturday, July 25; "All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Tribute Night" is Saturday, May 30; "Negro League Tribute Night" is Saturday, June 20; and "Pink in the Park" is Sunday, June 7. The Baysox will also host the third annual "Autism Awareness Night" and the "Miss Utility Diamond Dig" Sunday, Aug. 16. "Christmas in July," "Pink In The Park" and "Negro League Tribute Night" will all feature jersey auctions. On Friday, May 29, the Baysox will challenge the record books. The team will try to set the world record for most people wearing sunglasses at night. The first 1,000 fans to register for the world record attempt at the game will receive a free pair of sunglasses. To round out the promotional schedule, the Baysox are also rolling out a pair of exciting new ticket offers. Penny Pincher Tuesdays, will feature T-Shirt giveaways and food specials. On Wednesdays, starting in May, fans can purchase All You Can Eat Club Seats for $33. The seats include a buffet from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream. While the full buffet closes down at 8 p.m., fans will receive unlimited hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and soda from 8 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Promotions and times are subject to change, so keep coming back to baysox.com! The Baysox will open their 17th season as the class AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, April 8, in Akron. The team will play its first game back home at Prince George's Stadium on Thursday, April 16.
