June 11, 2007 - Brian Buscher slugged a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to power New Britain past Bowie, 6-4, on Sunday.
Buscher snapped the tie with a two-run blast, his fifth, that sailed over the right-field wall. The Rock Cats designated hitter went 2-for-4 and also scored twice.
Larry Hughes went 2-for-5 and clubbed his third homer, and Brandon Roberts lined a two-run single for the Rock Cats (31-26).
With two outs and the bases empty in the ninth, the Baysox (30-31) rallied. Val Majewski and Ryan Hubele singled and pinch-hitter Luis Antonio Jimenez cracked an RBI double to right. Bryan Bass smacked a two-run double to tie the game.
New Britain reliever Jay Sawatski (3-2) notched the win, tossing 1 1/3 scoreless frames. Starter Ryan Mullins hurled seven strong innings, allowing one run on six hits while fanning two and walking two.
Bowie starter Craig Anderson surrendered four runs on 11 hits while walking two and striking out six in 7 2/3 frames. Sendy Rleal (0-2) was charged with two runs in 1 1/3 innings, walking one and fanning one.
